Competition

Growing up I’m sure every one of us Played some sort of Sport, or had Sibling Rivalries. Life was a constant Competition. Now we see it all the time on Twitter, in Politics, basically everywhere we look, everyone always trying to be the Best.

Competition is what keeps many of us Motivated, and offers a relief from the Day to Day repetition. Whether we like it or not, fulltime trader, fulltime worker, fulltime Parent, we all get into the same Routine. But the second another Trader “calls something first”, a colleague gets a promotion, or another Parent Praises their Child, we instantly get Competitive.

It’s the same Reason Grown Adults will play Fantasy Football, root for their favorite Teams, and Bet on random Games. It’s the reason we will see someone build a shelter out of logs, or some crazy skateboard trick and think “we can do that” with 0 experience. No matter the cause, we should always look to be competitive, in the end it Pushes us further, keeps us getting Better, and gives us a moment away from the repetition of our Daily lives!

Be ELITE Challenge

The Challenge Started last week and So Far everyone completed Week 1. Majority have set themselves some Hard Goals, but are looking great achieving them. First couple of Weeks are the hardest, but already starting to see a lot of Progress. Excited to see where we all are with our Goals in another couple of weeks. Don’t forget to pick out and Read 2 Books!

Easter Bunny:

For the longest time growing up I never understood where the stories of Santa Clause, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy etc all came from. For real we convince kids a 6ft tall Rabbit runs around hiding Eggs filed with candy for us to find, but then turn around and tell them if someone offers them Candy not to take it and run away.

It’s Cool if a Giant Rabbit hides it in the sofa or in a tree to eat it, but not some stranger. These stories don’t make sense at all, and are completely confusing. Then we become the Parents. I remember one time we were walking, and my 6 year old (who was 4 at the time), moved away from a Gutter and told my Wife to be careful of the Clown Hole.

I immediately got stared at, and couldn’t talk my way out of it. In Texas our Gutters are large enough for kids to fall into, and at some point I went with the “It” story. Point being sometimes we tell random stories to kids, because we know that saying “stay away from that you can fall in”, would tempt them to go closer to it. Trying to Explain Easter, or Christmas doesn’t make it fun for them, so we elaborate and make it understandable on their level. And sometimes its because at the end of the day when we are on NO energy, and they are still at 80%, we just don’t feel like explaining! But at the same time, we need to always remember that none of us is perfect, but everything we Say or Do is being heard and Watched!

Stock Market Thoughts:

We had a hard move up today in certain stocks, that carried the market. But the vast majority still looked shaky. As of right now there are not many Daily, Weekly etc charts that I like. Most are still bearish, and in order to fully turn them back to the upside we need to see a lot harder move to the upside, and then some consolidation. CPI is Wednesday, possible Union Strike on Thursday, Gov shutdown news, and Fed looming. Not a time to go long other than Scalps right now.

Obsidian:

The New Obsidian Class 15 is Enrolling. It will be similar to those who are in the Current Class 14, learning our Setup for scalps and Midterms. It is a Simple process, that allows people who work fulltime to be able to trade Smallcaps and Options, while OTC still is slower. Add some extra tools to your Trade kit and dont rely on just 1 Market! If you were in Classes 1-12, revisit as we go over more Midterm type Trading and Setups!
